Location

The Alpenrose is a warm and friendly country inn. It's located in southern Vermont in a quiet yet easy-to-reach location less than 10 minutes from the Stratton and Bromley ski areas, 15 minutes from Magic Mountain and 30 minutes south of the slopes of Okemo.

An easy 3.5 hour drive from the New York Metropolitan Area.

Shopping

For those who love  shopping,  Manchester with its fantastic stores and outlets and the picturesque New England villages of Weston, Grafton, Chester, and Arlington are all only minutes away. Antiquing in this region almost always brings pleasant surprises as there are hundreds of locations along VT routes 7, 30, 11, and 100. There is also an abundance of excellent restaurants just a few minutes from the Alpenrose.

No matter what time of year you visit us, we'll start your day with our hearty country breakfast which includes locally made bacon & sausage, eggs, pancakes - the works!

Snow Activities in the Winter

If you are not a downhill skier, don’t worry… there’s plenty to do! You can borrow our snow shoes to hike on the many trails surrounding the Inn or bring your cross country skis. Need ski equipment? There are two local Nordic centers where you can find an instructor and/or rent skis.

Other Times of Year

There are many picturesque golf courses nearby, including a well regarded golf school.

Bring your golf clubs, bike, hiking shoes or bathing suit to enjoy nearby swimming holes.

And… there’s nothing better than picking Vermont apples in the nearby orchard.
