What a great place run by great folks.
Fantastic ski style lodge architecture. Game room in basement, lots of sitting rooms with comfortable seats and couches. Owners are very nice and genuine people. Rooms have a great nostalgic feel and even the room names make it all feel so quaint. Breakfast customized to your needs and the best coffee I’ve had in months. While Stratton is a long drive from home, I can’t wait to stay here again.

There is a reason the ratings are so good: A perfect weekend getaway...
My wife and I decided to take a last minute trip in early March, the snow was too good to pass up. I called Friday morning, packed the car and drove up that evening. Both the inn and room were very warm, inviting and comfortable on a very cold, snowy night. David and Anne are very welcoming and you immediately feel at home sitting by the fire chatting with them and the other guests.
We skied Bromley and Stratton, the inn is very close to both. The breakfast was delicious and filling. David was full of great recommendations to avoid crowds.
I STRONGLY recommend you stay for the family-style dinner (grab a bottle of wine in town first). The food is FANTASTIC and the experience eating with your hosts and the other guests will not soon be forgotten.
I cannot say enough good things about the inn and its proprietors.
PS. Just note they don’t take credit card, so bring a checkbook.

A lovely inn for our family during a ski trip to Stratton Mt, VT
This quaint old inn is charming in a rustic way. Hosts Anne and David are gracious and met our every need - even helping shovel snow from our car!! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and meals at the inn were great (love the locally sourced sausage)! The family style dining room and common areas created a good opportunity to interact with other guests too. Our family would most definitely stay here again.

My new favorite Inn!
A friend of mine recently recommended the Alpenrose Inn saying it’s the only place he ever stays when visiting Southern VT...and I see why. Anne and David are amazing hosts! They went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The rooms/beds are extremely comfortable and the afternoon wine and cheese, delicious breakfasts, game room and numerous living room areas made the stay so homey. Surprisingly we met other guests who also were loyal and knew my friend..made it feel like family. I found my go-to Vermont Inn.
